Glory is a word I think we attribute (in our present culture) as something beautiful. It's like something wonderous and brilliant in nature, amazing even. But I think, from scripture, the mind of God towards glory and his nature as glorious, is not all about glitz and glam as it is an encounter with him, and the process therein transformation that affords us an encounter with the Glory of God.
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. [18] Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. [19] For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Romans 8:17-19
I think we cannot escape the reality of experiencing trials in life and when it comes to the life we have in God, it is not going to always be, "let me rise & succeed here/there that you may be glorified". It is very limiting to toe the glory of God to JUST mundane spaces of elevation as per the system(s) of this world. That in our suffering, we (me included, if not especially 😅) come to a place of doubting God, and we question him with, "where are you? Why am I going through this? Don't you love me anymore?"
But I think - as I am progressively learning - the glory of God is revealed in every moment of our faith walk in Him. That we are not tied to the myth of 'experiencing' his glory just in the good, but seeing his glory revealed within the trials and tribulations we face. IT IS HARD, ngl (Not Gonna Lie) .... But if Christ in me is to be revealed, then there ought to be training, vigilance & discipline to equip me/us(saints) in the faith to learn to see God in each moment, to rely on him and to keep our minds locked on all that pertains to him and his kingdom.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT
[9] Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
When we come to a place of seeing the vanity in our efforts & strength to make things work and see the need FIRST, of God & then exercising our faith, based off of what we have come to see & learn of God, then will we get to experience what it means to trust in God.
